Stéfanie Théroux’s love for dance was instant when she began dancing at an early age at l'Ecole de danse Louise, Ottawa, ON. Her training inspired her to audition for the school’s competitive dance team. As a member of the team she received awards such as winning the title of Miss Teenage Pick the Stars International 2007 and was given the opportunity of becoming a member of the New York City Summer Dance Tour 2007 with Menina Fortunato.
After high school, Stéfanie decided to pursue her passion for dance in Toronto. Recently, she completed her BFA Hons. Dance at York University. During her time at York, she was a part of various productions such as Auroraline with ShiftDance, York Dances and York Innovations both as a performer and choreographer. Stéfanie was also a member of the York Dance Ensemble, a pre-professional repertory company, having the opportunity to work with world renowned choreographers such as Meagan O’Shea, Susan Cash, Rachel Browne, Danny Grossman, Angela Blumberg, Alison Daily, Deborah Brown, Yvonne Ng, Robert Glumbek, Terrill Maguire and Keiko Kitano.
Last summer, Stéfanie performed and choreographed in "Alert! Electric Popsicle Field", NewfoundDance’s first Toronto production with NFD for this summer.
Teaching is also one of her passions. Stefanie has been teaching ballet, jazz, tap musical theatre and modern at l'Ecole de danse Louise, in Ottawa, since 2006. Stefanie also taught at summer camp with Legacy of dance academy.
